The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced five Asians to three years in jail on charges of assaulting a compatriot and causing him fatal injuries.

They all will be deported after serving their jail term.

The Appellate Court increased the sentence to 5 years and upheld the deportation.

The details of the case that took place in the Naif area in Dubai date back to May 2021, when the Operations Room of the Dubai Police received a report alerting that an Asian was assaulted on the public road by several people.

Instantly on receiving the report, a police patrol and an ambulance were rushed to the scene, where it was found that the victim had died.

The police arrested all the suspects, and one of the suspects confessed that he connived with the others to assault the victim because he reported him to the police, which resulted in his arrest.

Another suspect confessed that he received a call from the first suspect inviting him and other suspects to have lunch with at his place.

After they all had their lunch, the first suspect told them that he was angry with the victim because he (victim) had reported him to the police, which led to his arrest, and that he wanted revenge.

The rest of the suspects confessed that they searched for the victim, who they found in the Naif area in Dubai, where they beat him up until he fell to the ground. They denied their intention to kill him.

According to the forensic report, the victim died as a result of abrasions to the neck, a wound and bruises to the scalp, a fractured skull and bleeding as a result of assault.
