Surveillance cameras documented a horrible attack in Maadi area, south of Cairo, Egypt, on a security guard.
The CCTV footage showed the assailant hitting and dragging the victim, who was assigned to guard the gate of a residential complex, due to a dispute over the entry of maintenance workers, according to the “Cairo 24” website.
The victim, Mohammed Mustafa Kamel, said that he worked for a security services and private guards company, and he was tasked with guarding the company's compound in Maadi area.
Kamel added, "A person came to the gate and I asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted to meet a client in a building inside the compound so I asked him what its number is and where it is located but he refused to answer. So I asked him to call that person and to tell me his name and location, but he spoke to me in a rude manner."
Kamel added, “Shortly after, some people came to the place to finish some construction work for a resident of the compound and I allowed them in after checking their identities.
After 10 minutes, a person came to me and said, "Why did you let them in quickly? Don't you know who I am? He then hit me, slapped me 11 times and insulted me with abusive words, but some people of the compound and the security company intervened.
A controversy prevailed among social media activists over the incident, amid great anger.
