The UAE national football team is two steps away from achieving the big dream of reaching the Qatar 2022 World Cup, when it plays at ten in the evening the Asian play-off against its Australian counterpart at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Doha.

The national team players realise that it is a historic match, and that it is the chance of a lifetime to pass this difficult test, and set a date with Peru in the international play-off on the thirteenth of this month in Doha as well.

Reaching the World Cup finals is the dream of a generation and a nation for our players, especially with great aspirations to take advantage of the renewed opportunity to play in the Asian and global playoffs, although the task is very difficult, but not impossible.

The current generation, led by top scorer Ali Mabkhout, is looking forward to ensuring qualification and the opportunity to have the honour of representing the country's name in the major football event next November.

The players hope to repeat the scene of the achievement of "Generation 90", which had the honour of reaching the world finals that were played in Italy.

The play-off matches represent an opportunity for the teams that stumbled in their qualifying journey.

The Welsh team was writing a new history yesterday, after it qualified for the European play-off at the expense of Ukraine, to return to the world stage after an absence of 64 years.

Ali Mabkhout, the team's top scorer, represents the winning offensive card that UAE will rely on in order to strike the defensive opponents' fortresses, and reach the "Kangaroo" net in order to achieve the most expensive victory on his trip to Doha.

Argentinian coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena is betting on the high spirits and the players' great desire to achieve the desired goal, and to ensure they remain in Doha until the thirteenth of this month.

The coach has great confidence in goalkeeper Khaled Issa.
